achievement

Many of the topics discussed thus far have implications for achievement: families and peers contribute towards achievement attitudes, leisure, school, and work are all contexts in which adolescents achieve, and healthy self-esteem is a reflection of pride of achievement.

  • The National School Board Advocacy organization has published a long report on trends in student achievement. This report sorts "through the major sources of national testing data and shows how it is used and misused". This is clearly an advocacy organization supporting schools, but their analysis provides interesting insight into the use of statistics.
