What is autonomy? Is it separating oneself from others by building a wall? Or is it creating such a strong sense of who you are that it is clear where you stop and where others begin? Autonomy includes issues of behavioral autonomy (like learning to do your own laundry), recognizing that others are different from oneself (a milestone in social cognition), and being comfortable holding beliefs that are different from those of others.Links of interest:
