GOALS OF THE COURSE

To create a learning environment that includes both the cognitive and affective domains.

To understand the dynamics of marriage and family especially in the rural areas.

To understand the societal changes that impact the family in rural areas.

To understand how social changes influence the family and how the family influences change.

To understand the relationship between the family and the rural society including a knowledge of appropriate theories, research, problems, issues and trends.

To identify major cultural values in the home culture.

To understand how current value systems impact on the family in the rural areas.
